and Their Significance

A major strength of Traditional Chinese Medicine lies in its ability to map the connections within the body with great precision, drawing on a body of knowledge developed over thousands of years. These connections are understood through systems such as the Five Elements, the meridian network, the biological body clock, and the six stages, among others.

This perspective allows for a highly effective approach to treatment, as it not only addresses symptoms but also seeks to uncover and treat their underlying roots.
Conditions such as anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances are, in my view, expressions of an internal imbalance. They signal that something within the system is no longer in harmony and requires attention.

Following appropriate medical evaluation, I would be delighted to support you in addressing these and similar concerns.

Depression

When viewed through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine, depression, for example, is often linked to the digestive system. The colon is connected to the brain through the meridian system, and when digestive energy is weakened, food is not properly transformed. What remains can accumulate as internal dampness, which over time may develop into what is described as mucus. This state reflects the quality often experienced in depression: heaviness, stagnation, and a lack of clarity. At the same time, the flow of energy in the heart, understood as the seat of the spirit, as well as throughout the entire body, may become impaired.

In treatment, I allow the feet to guide me in understanding what is weighing on your system, particularly the Earth element, and I support the digestive organs in restoring their natural function.

Anxiety

Anxiety is often associated with deficiency, particularly within the kidney system. This may relate to depleted energy reserves or a lack of inner warmth, sometimes following periods of illness or prolonged stress. In addition to assessing these aspects, I work with the reflex zones of the feet to identify patterns that may originate from early development, including prenatal influences, and support their resolution.

Sleep disturbances

Sleep disturbances can arise from a wide range of causes. One particularly meaningful discovery by Sister Jeanne Cattin is the reflection of the aorta on the feet and hands. By working with this area, it is often possible to improve sleep, as well as relieve headaches and other symptoms connected to insufficient circulation and a lack of communication between different parts of the body.

Back pain,
lower back pain
and sciatica

Back pain, including lower back pain and sciatica, is also commonly encountered. In addition to evaluating the reflex zones related to the organs, especially the kidneys and gallbladder, I assess the alignment of the pelvis, which can often be gently corrected. The course of the sciatic nerve and each individual vertebra is reflected on the foot and can be treated with precision.

Symptoms with No Identifiable Cause

There are times when medical examinations do not reveal a clear cause for existing symptoms, or when test results do not align with how you feel. One of the strengths of my approach is that treatment does not depend on a defined diagnosis. Instead, each session focuses on restoring balance and supporting the flow of energy throughout the entire system.

As this balance is reestablished, symptoms may improve, even when their origin remains unclear.

This is not an exhaustive list of all conditions that may be supported through reflexology.

Rather, these examples are intended to offer insight into my approach and to invite a broader perspective on health that complements conventional Western medicine.
